Beyonce House: Photos of Her & Jay Zs Bel Air Lair + 4 Others!

Fittingly, Jay’s house is the only one to have a pool — which serves as a location for many of the show’s most memorable episodes. Evocative of Jay Pritchett’s cool demeanor (with a clean, modern design throughout, punctured by colorful decor elements, to signal Gloria’s influences), the modern mansion is a symbol of status. The successful patriarch of the family, Jay, lives in the nicest house — which just so happens to reflect his status and wealth, as well as the new life he’s embarked on alongside his new family.

How the Former Home of Actress Jean Harlow Became One of Hollywood’s Darkest Mysteries

jay house

In 1963, the house was sold to celebrity hairstylist Jay Sebring, who a year later began dating aspiring actress Sharon Tate. Though the couple eventually split, they remained extremely close friends until, tragically, on the night of August 9th, 1969, they were murdered by members of the Manson Family cult. And while the horrific events that night did not take place at the Harlow/Bern House, an alleged interview with Tate from the year before her death suggests a chilling connection to the home. The indulgent, Italian-style home features Murano glass fixtures, Venetian plastered walls, and Bourgogne and Italian stone floors.

Some other features that make the mega-mansion so special are the 2-story hand-carved limestone entry and the 24-seat dining room (with a marble-topped table and cabinetry). All this space and opulence is exactly why the home is currently on the market for $54,500,000. The Mediterranean-inspired home and its surrounding structures total a whopping 16,107 square feet of living space. It boasts 10-bedrooms and 14-bathrooms (what do you even do with 10 bedrooms?!).

At 7,174 square feet, the spacious palazzo is also a prime spot for hosting parties. On the market for $24.99 million, this gorgeous home offers only five bedrooms and five bathrooms, but with 3.9 acres of space, there’s extensive privacy from onlookers and additional spots to expand if necessary. Another benefit is the private staff quarters, which sounds like a lovely home itself, with three bedrooms and a full kitchen. Beyoncé and Jay-Z also own an $88 million Bel Air estate, though it’s unclear if they intend to hold onto the similarly contemporary pad. The house is a minimalist masterpiece, a modern concoction of concrete and glass envisioned by art collector William Bell, who bought the property for $14.5 million in 2003. For the design, he brought in Japanese architect Tadao Ando, a Pritzker Prize winner responsible for impressive concrete structures across Asia, Europe and North America.

McClean designs for people who want both understatement and ostentatiousness—taste and tastelessness in the same package. His clients want the clean lines of Richard Neutra, but with a hair salon on site, please. McClean points out a white cluster in the mountains just east of the Getty Museum.

Later on, this Presbyterian Church was converted into a studio for ballet dance. Now a well-known structure, you will often hear it referred to as Garden District Palace. This house, on Blue Jay Way, was McClean's first Bird Streets home, and was purchased by Aviici in 2014.

His style is on full display here, as the L-shaped mansion opens to vast, open spaces marked by concrete hallways and floor-to-ceiling walls of glass. Out back, patios lead to a swimming pool, cabana and a flat, grassy lawn perched on a cliff overlooking the beach below. Beverly Hills, synonymous with opulence and celebrity status, has always been a beacon for those in the limelight.

The Heart of the Home – Interior Design

Beyoncé and Jay-Z reportedly just bought a house that—between the price, the size, and the world-class architectural pedigree—would break any design lover’s soul. The mega-mansion spans nearly 40,000 square feet and required 7,645 cubic yards of concrete, according to Morley Construction Co., the project’s contractor. It was featured in the 1998 cult-classic The Big Lebowski as Jeffery Lebowski’s mansion.

After losing his trailblazing father, New Jersey’s first Black congressman Donald Payne Sr., to cancer in 2012, Don ran reluctantly in a special election to serve out his father’s final term. He co-sponsored the 2013 law reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act that I first wrote years ago, transforming the way that domestic abuse is treated in America. They will be a piece of his legacy forever.Don represented the best of Newark, a community of faith, grit, and hard work; and he believed deeply in its promise. He lived his whole life on the same street, committed to the city that so many in his family served. Originally designed by legendary architect Paul Williams, the home features two gated entries for optimum privacy. With 17 bathrooms, three living rooms, seven fireplaces, and a 12-seat theater, there’s plenty of room for the growing family, who will hopefully have another bundle of joy on the way soon.

These renovations include technological upgrades and interior redesigns to reflect his personal style. Leno graduated from Emerson College with a degree in speech therapy, but it was his foray into stand-up comedy that truly set the stage for his illustrious career. Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s 30,000-square-foot compound also features a minimal design and multiple pools. Has passed several anti-“mansionization” ordinances, some which restrict a home’s size based on the percentage of its lot it occupies. Residents of Bel Air even formed a homeowners alliance to dissuade the development of mega-properties such as “The One,” which is three times the size of the Taj Mahal.

This article unveils the unique blend of classic elegance and modern technology that defines Leno’s exquisite home. From the grandeur of its architecture to the personalized touches in its interior design, discover how this mansion stands as a symbol of Leno’s remarkable journey and success. High in the hills above Los Angeles, nestled in the trees of Benedict Canyon, sits a 1930 Craftsman-style house that was once home to one of Hollywood's biggest stars. From the outside, its stone stairways, honeycomb glass windows, and towering turret make the house look as if it were plucked from a fairytale movie set. During their 1965 North American tour, the Beatles rented this house from Zsa Zsa Gabor. A Midwestern boy at heart, he was raised in St. Louis and studied journalism at the University of Missouri.

In 2013 the carriage house, which also served as a home for staff such as housekeepers, sold for $995,000. The exterior of the property as it looks today, including the swimming pool. After Sebring’s murder in 1969, the house was sold to a doctor who had always admired the house. Jay’s parents, still hugely upset with the death of their son, helped with the sale of the property. While the Jay Sebring house was never built by Jay, in fact, it was built way back in the 1920s, the home has become part of Jay Sebring’s story.

However, Sebring was not the only celebrity to live there and suffer terrible luck, movie star Jean Harlow also lived in the property, when her husband was found dead in what was deemed a suicide. Before the likes of Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry, it was Beyoncé who broke the internet with a dramatic pregnancy reveal. And when her twins turned a month old, she celebrated the milestone with an equally ethereal post-baby shoot. 30 days after their birth, Beyoncé used her private home garden to share a first glimpse of babies Sir and Rumi with the world. The Carter family's sprawling garden features neatly sculpted shrubs and comes with a closer view of the beach too. Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z are known for breaking records, and now, they’ve broken the record for purchasing the most expensive home in California’s history. George Harrison reportedly stayed at this house, which belonged to friend and Gift of Fear author Gavin de Becker, during his last days in 2001. The Beatles were big Elvis fans and their manager, Brian Epstein, and Presley's, Colonel Tom Parker, finally arranged a meeting late on August 27, 1965 at Presley's rented house in Bel Air. It was reportedly kind of awkward, but they joked around, had a jam session, and John and Elvis even talked "about Peter Sellers and favorite scenes from Dr. Strangelove." Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency handled both ends of the deal, TMZ reported.

Don’t miss the breathtaking view from Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s home in LA

His father, William J. Bell, created the iconic soap operas The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. Times, Bell purchased the property in the late 1990s for $14.5 million and enlisted Ando to create a modernist glass-and-concrete structure. He’s considered one of the biggest art collectors in the world, with numerous works of art by Jeff Koons, Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Marcel Duchamp, and many more. The new Blue Jay Way home, at 8,000 square feet, is by no means the grandest of McClean’s designs, which can come with six-digit square footages and nine-digit price tags. The style is a take on the area’s iconic midcentury modern, metaphorically pumped up with steroids and silicone to a scale that would make Rudolph Schindler, a pioneer of the modernist Hollywood house, blush.

The historic deal redefines the luxury market in Southern California, which has slowed down so far this year in the wake of the red-hot pandemic housing market. It also marks another feather in the cap for the affluent enclave of Paradise Cove, which has emerged as one of the most valuable stretches of land in the entire country. Jay-Z and Beyoncé just shattered California’s price record, paying $200 million for a striking concrete compound overlooking the ocean in Malibu, according to TMZ.

With this image of Jay-Z with rapper P Diddy, which was shared in 2019, Beyoncé gave us a glimpse into her living room. You’ll spot ash grey carpets, glass panels, white-washed walls and a large piano taking centre stage here. A teal blue velvet couch with metallic gold frames adds a subtle hint of colour to the space. The 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom duplex is almost a century old, having been built in 1929. While there are no recent sales on record, the multifamily property is worth around $2 million. It’s now worth well over $10 million, with real estate portals like Zillow.com estimating its value around $11 million, while Redfin.com places it at around $11.5 million.

While there are many lights fitted into the ceiling, the true life of this house meets the eye during the daytime. The expansive windows on the walls let tons of sunlight in to make the entire house bright and lively. The location of the dining room also makes this house a really unique experience for anyone who visits.

Commissioned by soap opera legends William and Maria Bell in 1999, the structure was designed by the Japanese architect Tadao Ando. The Bell House, as it is known by the contractors who constructed it, took 15 years to build. She can be seen walking along Venice Beach with her yellow lab mix in tow, staring off into the sky hoping that looking uninterested and deep will get her discovered.

This infamous Gold Coast house was built by MGM chief Louis B. Mayer, later owned by actor Peter Lawford, and said to have hosted JFK/Marilyn Monroe trysts. Lennon rented the house with girlfriend May Pang during his year-and-a-half-long "Lost Weekend" and produced Harry Nilsson's Pussy Cats there; he hosted Nilsson and Keith Moon there, and made nice with McCartney. The hip-hop power couple stole the record from their new neighbor, billionaire venture capitalist Marc Andreessen, who paid $177 million for the home right next door in 2021. Featuring an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a dedicated room for massages, a spa and a steam room, the amenities are like that of a 5-star resort. It has all the decadence you’d expect from a home owned, or rented, by the musical power-couple. Plenty of trees, lush vegetation, and tall hedges surrounding the home also offer lots of privacy, something of which celebrities tend to seek out when looking for a place to call home.

She and Jay-Z are known to also own works by David Hammons, Richard Prince and Laurie Simmons, among many others. Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, best known as just Beyoncé, is a much-loved name in every country across the globe, and for good reason. With 24 Grammys (and 70 nominations in total, making her the most nominated artist in Grammy history), the icon is among the world's most talented musicians, and has made waves once again with her latest visual album, Black Is King.

“Opus,” a Trousdale mansion originally listed for $100 million and developed by Niami and designed by McLean, is now $85 million. At “Opus,” an $85-million slab of marble and gold on Hillcrest, in Trousdale, McClean shows me how he designed a full-size, subterranean swimming pool beneath a massive skylight. McClean tends to design long, skinny pools—multiple per property, despite the fact that California has been suffering from a severe drought since 2014—that take advantage of the jagged lots he builds on. And nearby is “the obligatory movie theater,” McClean says as we enter the plush room. While the carriage house doesn’t hold anywhere near as much history as the main house, this part of the property has been on the market more recently.

It was last on the market for $65 million when Jamie McCourt decided to sell the home. It was purchased by a mysterious “British Billionaire” for $45 million in 2014, which is who Beyoncé and Jay Z rented from. After having their previous rental sold out from under them, Beyoncé and Jay Z landed this massive estate in the heart of Beverly Hills for the same price. Formerly owned by ex-Los Angeles Dodgers owner Jamie McCourt, the Carters paid a reported $150,000 per month for this swanky Beverly Hills mansion. With this purchase, the Carter’s have spent a whopping $114 million in 2017 on real estate deals from coast to coast. Developer Tyrone McKillen bought the lot and previous home for $15 million in 2015.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s $88 million offer was accepted and the purchase was official. This table offers a detailed comparison between Jay Leno’s Beverly Hills mansion and the homes of specific celebrities, highlighting unique features and differences. The “Opus” property features a basement-level pool, billiards room, champagne room, wine room, and a movie theater. Originally listed for $100 million, this Trousdale mansion is now $85 million. The colossal concrete compound sits on 8 acres of pristine land off the Southern California coast and has its own private beach, swimming pool, and a water feature in addition to the 40,000 square foot residence. In October 2017, public records show the couple is still dumping money into the mansion. They have taken out 2 permits – one to install a backup generator, and the other to add a living space below the pool to the tune of $750,000. Beyonce owns not only an incredible, 30,000 square foot estate in Bel Air, CA worth $88 million, but also owns a massive mega mansion in East Hamptons, New York. The couple was married for just two months before tragedy struck—on September 5th, 1932, Paul Bern was found dead with a single gunshot wound to the head and a 38 caliber revolver in his hand. His body was discovered by house staff who, rather than calling the police, immediately contacted executives at MGM, the studio where Bern worked. Though his death was ultimately ruled a suicide by police, many—including some of Bern's colleagues in the film industry—believe he was actually murdered and that the studio covered it up to save Harlow's career. Whichever the case, Bern wouldn't be the last owner of the home to suffer an untimely death. This home actually has an elevator as well, but seeing as it’s made of glass, Solange will have to be on her best behavior.

When he goes to investigate, he is fatally mauled by a white wolf (portrayed by a white German Shepherd Dog). That night, Rachel invites Bellac to attend a Halloween costume party at the parish house the following day, but Bellac declines. Rachel confronts Bellac about his isolation from the family, but he remains evasive. Rachel later falls asleep while reading and has what seems to be a nightmare in which Bellac asks her to remove Jennie's crucifix pendant from her neck and offers her eternal life. In the morning, Rachel finds the crucifix lying on the floor, suspecting it was not a dream.

Historian Gregory Mank described it as "the final serious entry of Universal's Frankenstein saga".[3] It received predominantly negative reviews in its early New York screenings, while retrospective reviews have been predominantly lukewarm. House of Dracula is a 1945 American horror film released and distributed by Universal Pictures. Directed by Erle C. Kenton, the film features several Universal Horror properties meeting as they had done in the 1944 film House of Frankenstein. The film is set at the castle home of Dr. Franz Edelmann, who is visited first by Count Dracula and later by Larry Talbot, the Wolf Man, who are trying to cure their vampirism and lycanthropy, respectively.

Critics Reviews

The film was developed initially with the title Wolf Man vs. Dracula to be directed by Ford Beebe with Bela Lugosi reprising his role of Count Dracula. After actor Boris Karloff returned for a two-film deal with Universal and several requests from the censorship board, the film was put on hold for nearly six months. House of Dracula went into production directed by Kenton with a screenplay by Edward T. Lowe, who took elements from the Wolf Man vs. Dracula script while adding in Frankenstein's monster (from Frankenstein) to the plot. Many cast and crew members returned from House of Frankenstein, including John Carradine in the role of Count Dracula, Glenn Strange as the monster, and Lon Chaney Jr. as both the Wolf Man and Larry Talbot. The film uses large sections of music from previous Universal feature films and footage, sets and props from other early Universal horror films.

List of vampire films

1970 saw Christopher Lee return as Count Dracula in not one but two Hammer entries, TASTE THE BLOOD OF DRACULA and SCARS OF DRACULA. Meanwhile, in-house director Roy Ward Baker directed Ingrid Pitt in THE VAMPIRE LOVERS, which featured explicit lesbian eroticism. The times were a-changing, and audiences found themselves growing bored with the boilerplate vampire tales that low-budget studios had been cranking out through the ‘60s.

The doctor kills Holtz by accidental electrocution, and Talbot shoots Edelmann dead. Talbot starts a fire that traps the monster and the townspeople flee the burning castle. Count Dracula arrives at the castle home of Dr. Franz Edelmann and explains he has come to Visaria to find a cure for his vampirism. Dr. Edelmann agrees to help, believing a series of blood transfusions may heal him.

Cast & Crew

However, the showrunners may take creative liberties and deviate from the source material as we’ve seen done in Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon’s first season. Ahead of the looming battle, Max is promoting season 2 of House of the Dragon with two trailers — one for each Targaryen side. The dueling teasers, as they’re so-called, showcase the rivalry between Team Green in support of Alicent and Team Black representing Queen Rhaenyra. The first season of House of the Dragon introduced us to Westeros some 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones took place. The season took us through the life of King Viserys Targaryen — yes, an ancestor of Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones. We’re now just weeks away from season 2 of House of the Dragon, so let’s quickly recap the events of the first season and what we can expect from the upcoming episodes.

Despondent at the thought of becoming the Wolf Man again, Talbot attempts suicide by jumping into the ocean, only to end up in a cave below the castle. The ‘80s saw a slew of modern-day vampire tales with Tony Scott’s THE HUNGER bringing them to New York’s goth scene, NEAR DARK to the Wild West, and FRIGHT NIGHT transporting the legend even closer to home—next door to a suburban teenage horror fan. Fifty years — and countless modern takes on vampire legends from comic books to television to film — it’s easy to overlook its influence, but COUNT YORGA, VAMPIRE remains an influential vampire flick that fans of the genre should sink their teeth into. YORGA was a surprise hit for AIP in the summer of 1970, appealing to both audiences and critics. In addition to Siskel’s glowing review for the Chicago Tribune, Roger Greenspun of the New York Times called Quarry “the best chief vampire I have seen in years.” Kenneth Thompson of The Monthly Film Bulletin praised the acting and direction, comparing YORGA to NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD.

Realizing that he has become a vampire, Edelman offers to treat Nina immediately with the cultivated mold, but the nurse unselfishly insists that the surgeon cure Larry first. While recuperating from his treatment, Larry learns that a blood-thirsty Edelman has killed Zeigfried, one of his servants, but says nothing out of sympathy and gratitude. Larry then agrees to kill the physician should Edelman be unable to cure himself of his vampirism. Later, Larry walks out into the moonlight to discover that the treatment has been a success, while the vampire Edelman sneaks back into his laboratory and revives the Frankenstein monster. The monster chases after Larry, knocking over various chemicals and setting a fire in the laboratory. The police and villagers arrive just as Larry and Miliza flee and the monster and the castle are engulfed in flames.

On the other side, Aegon Targaryen II had been erroneously elevated to king after his wife, Alicent Hightower, mistakenly interpreted King Viserys’ deathbed ramblings. Yes, House of the Dragon is a prequel series set in the same world as Game of Thrones (Westeros), but roughly 200 years earlier. Season 2 of House of the Dragon will continue to be based on George R. R. Martin’s novel Fire & Blood.

All events are recorded in Harker's journal, which later serves his friends as a report about the vampire and as a travel guide. After Lucy Westenra, Mina Murray's old school friend has died from a mysterious illness, Professor Abraham Van Helsing visits Mina and reads the diary, which he confirms to be a realistic account of the unbelievable circumstances Jonathan was confronted with.

That excised chapter is presented here in its original place, leading into the classic narrative as an added enjoyment for devoted Dracula readers. One would think a movie called the “best horror film of the year” by Gene Siskel of the Chicago Tribune would end up on countless “greatest horror films” lists. Yet COUNT YORGA, VAMPIRE has found itself a B-movie oddity, relegated to late, late showings on UHF stations throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s and all but forgotten — if ever seen — by a generation that reveled in the modern horror era of slashers and special makeup effects.

Edelmann and his assistant Milizia have him transferred to the castle the next morning. The doctor tells him he believes that moonlight does not trigger Talbot's transformations; it is pressure on the brain. He believes he can relieve the pressure and asks Talbot to wait while he gathers more spores from a plant he feels can cure him.

Rhaenyra gets crowned Queen in Dragonstone, while Alicent has her son Aegon crowned in King’s Landing. Meanwhile, the Hand of the King, Otto Hightower, subtly encouraged Viserys to remarry after the death of his first wife. This wouldn’t matter on its own, but the new Queen would eventually mother a son named Aegon.

Rachel departs to her night shift at the local parish house, where she tends to elderly and infirm residents, including a blind woman, Jennie. After Rachel finishes her shift, Bellac awakens Jennie, who offers to give her the ability of sight before biting her neck. In Central Europe, Investigator John Meierman and several assistants attempt to trap Count Dracula inside his tomb in a cemetery, but upon opening his casket, they find it empty.

Drácula

More than a low-budget footnote, COUNT YORGA, VAMPIRE is a highly influential take on the vampire mythos, eschewing spooky Victorian castles by bringing the bloodsuckers to contemporary Los Angeles. Its gory, sexy modern sensibility would go on to inspire American International Pictures’ releases throughout the ’70s, as well as ‘80s vampire classics and beyond. Count Dracula arrives at the seaside Visarian home of Dr. Franz Edelman, a renowned surgeon, in hopes of finding a cure for his vampirism. After viewing Dracula's coffin and discovering an unknown parasite in his blood, the initially skeptical Edelman agrees to take the vampire's case.

Tough Films For The Rough Crowd

The film would pave the way for AIP’s other popular modern-day bloodsucker, BLACULA (which repurposes footage of Yorga’s coffin making its way stateside) as well as 1973’s SCREAM BLACULA, SCREAM. Quarry would appear in another independent production, THE DEATHMASTER in 1973 which featured the actor as a vampire hippie guru modeled after Charles Manson. One final note, the grandchildren of Lupita Tovar and Paul Kohner, the filmmakers Chris and Paul Weitz (About a Boy A Better Life, Fatherhood) are writing and directing Spanish Dracula, what else but the love story of their grandparents and the filming of the Spanish version. (5) Needless to say, the screening of the 1931 Drácula at the Billy Wilder Theater, the home of public programs of the UCLA Film & Television Archive, on October 29, will be a thrill for aficionados of the horror genre and Halloween. Game of Thrones captivated audiences like almost no other TV series since the turn of the century, but its final season left us with a disappointing ending. Luckily, we only had to wait a couple of years before HBO would announce a prequel series titled House of the Dragon.

Critics Reviews

This muddied the Targaryen’s line of succession — the Iron Throne was still technically promised to Rhaenyra, but the King’s son would be a clear and potential rival. Meanwhile, Hammer Productions, which all but cornered the vampire market throughout the ‘60s, found themselves playing catch-up. They transported Christopher Lee’s Count — and Peter Cushing’s Van Helsing — to swinging London, sinking his fangs into a modish group of attractive young people (including Caroline Munro) in DRACULA A.D, 1972. That film did not fare as well with critics, despite being a favorite of this writer.

Film Details

The subject of Dracula was very soon picked up for stage and movie adaptation with perhaps the most famous and enduring a blatant German copyright violation - the 1922 silent film Nosferatu - A Symphony Of Horror. This led to almost all copies of the movie being destroyed - ironically the only one to survive was an American copy as the American movie industry at the time was unwilling to enforce foreign copyright claims. House of the Dragon’s showrunners have claimed the series will last four seasons, but that may change depending on the story’s direction or show’s popularity. House of the Dragon season 2 was filmed at Leavesden Studios in the United Kingdom, per an official HBO announcement.

Millie Alcock and the rest of the first-generation Targaryens and Hightowers will, as far as HBO has indicated, not be returning this season in flashbacks. That doesn’t mean that we won’t see them again someday, but at least Paddy Considine does not have to jeopardize his own health for another stunning performance that the awards circuit decides to ignore. First, Daemon must zoom around Westeros to gather as many houses as possible for that fight. I suspect that the strategy set-up will take up much of this second season, but unlike with the book, Rhaenyra might even leave Dragonstone to participate. And we will literally see fire rain down from the sky when the two sides have to force allegiance from reluctant settlements.

Meanwhile, the count tries to seduce Milizia and make her a vampire, but Milizia wards him off with a cross. The doctor interrupts to explain he has found strange antibodies in the count's blood, requiring another transfusion. Edelmann's assistant Nina shadows Milizia and discovers that the count casts no reflection in a mirror. During the procedure, the count uses his hypnotic powers to put Edelmann and Nina to sleep. He reverses the flow of the transfusion, sending his own blood into the doctor's veins.

Season one opens with King Viserys struggling to name a successor for his seat on the Iron Throne. He didn’t have a male heir in line nor was he willing to hand the reigns over to his volatile brother, Daemon. After much deliberation, Viserys finally chose his daughter Rhaenyra in a desperate bid to keep the Targaryen rule intact. Viserys’ decision to name a female heir was unusual in a male-dominated lineage, causing him to draw criticism from far and wide.

The film’s climax features our heroes storming Yorga’s home at dusk, having overslept despite their plan to attack during daylight hours. The only person to actually enter the castle during this episode is Van Helsing, who leaves the night camp shared with Mina to do away with the vampire sisters. Mina is already affected by her "blood wedding" with the vampire and left within a circle of Holy Bread. Transposing the vampire legend into modern-day Los Angeles was not without its hurdles for the writers.

That night, Lawrence Talbot arrives at the castle demanding to see Dr. Edelmann about a cure for his lycanthropy. Talbot is told to wait, but knowing the moon is rising, has himself incarcerated by the police. Inspector Holtz asks the doctor to see Talbot, and, as the full moon rises, they both witness his transformation into the Wolf Man.

The day after Bellac's arrival, Mickey's beloved cat goes missing and is subsequently found mutilated in an abandoned mineshaft. Castle Dracula is the fictitious Transylvanian residence of Count Dracula, the vampire antagonist in Bram Stoker's 1897 horror novel Dracula. The Wolf Man and Count Dracula beg Dr. Edelman to cure them of their killing instincts but Dracula schemes to seduce the doctor's nurse. Obviously, the show will continue to track the Targaryen lineage about 300 years prior to near-extinction level on Game of Thrones.

Talbot is eventually cured, which leads him to discover the body of Frankenstein's monster in a cave below the base of the castle. Edelemann takes the monster's body back to his laboratory but finds Count Dracula has awakened and by attacking his assistants, he captures Edelmann and forces a reverse blood transfusion, which gives Edelmann a split personality and makes him a killer. Bram Stoker's Dracula, published in 1897, stands as a seminal work in the Gothic horror genre and has left an indelible mark on popular culture. The novel, written in an epistolary format, recounts the story of Count Dracula's attempt to move from Transylvania to England to spread the undead curse.

Disney Eats: Foodie Guide to Festive Gingerbread Houses, Displays 2023

Take home a piece of the magic (or eat it before you even get out of the lobby) with the purchase of a gingerbread shingle, just like those on the house. Aside from gingerbread, the other popular flavor of the season is peppermint. These shards of peppermint bark of dark and white chocolate with crushed peppermint candies sprinkled on top – will hit the spot. Whether you’re getting this for yourself or leaving it out for Santa on Christmas Eve, this gingerbread man has white chocolate eyes and mouth, and two red candy buttons.

We were on the scene when the first “elves” appeared to assemble this year’s gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian. From the baseboards to the rooftop, we saw these diligent workers putting together one of the biggest gingerbread houses this side of the North Pole. What an incredible (and tasty) lineup the talented culinary teams have put together for us this year.

That received almost zero fanfare, but was a nice improvement. Grand Floridian’s Victorian decor was refined and elegant prior to the refresh, but arguably a bit tired and (unintentionally) dated. Holiday Services has quietly been refreshing Christmas decoration packages around Walt Disney World for the last few years, and it’ll be interesting to see what gets plussed this year.

Given that it’s also Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, we’re betting on a decent amount of changes to the resort decor packages. Is visiting the Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa a holiday tradition? The traditional yule log cake is a sponge cake filled and rolled with buttercream. One end is cut off and placed on top to resemble a cut-off branch. It is then decorated with powdered sugar and meringue mushrooms.

I sure hope so because that’s exactly what you can expect to find at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, and even aboard the high seas on Disney Cruise Line during the holiday season. A true staple of both locations’ holiday festivities, these gingerbread displays are truly amazing. After months of hard work and creativity from the talented culinary teams, these displays are brought to life before our very eyes and are well worth the visit. Not that it was ever in doubt, the Grand Floridian is once again a must-visit resort during the holiday season at Walt Disney World with the return of the gingerbread house. After you check out the Grand Floridian gingerbread house construction, be sure to hop on the monorail to see if the other gingerbread displays are finished at other Deluxe resorts. Now, let’s blast off to Disney’s Contemporary Resort where their gingerbread display is back once again for its 12th year led by Pastry Chef Jeff Barnes!

Alternatively, if you have other reasons to be on Disney property, you can get to the hotel via Disney transportation from all four parks and from Disney Springs (Disney Springs, by the way, has free parking). You might enjoy the create-your-own gingerbread ornament kit for those who love arts, crafts, and food. For example, the white bar above the shop window is for a metal sign plaque that has not yet arrived.

Milk Chocolate Pecan Fudge – $9.00

A sign lists the ingredients used to construct the house including 1,050 lbs of honey, 600 lbs of powdered sugar, and 700 lbs of chocolate. Of course, while almost everything on the house is edible, you shouldn’t try to eat it. But gingerbread shingles and other treats are available for purchase from the house.

Signature Stollen Bread with Marzipan – $25.00 (in red box)

Part of the spectacle of Christmas at Disney World is the gingerbread creations that manifest at the Walt Disney World Resorts. Chief among these is the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House—a life-sized gingerbread house filled with festive Cast Members ready to serve holiday treats. This gingerbread house truly is enormous, and it’s quite a sight! If you have time to stop by Grand Floridian during your holiday visit, it’s totally worth it. The sides of the house are covered in gingerbread siding, and the roofs have snow-dusted gingerbread shingles. Above the windows are decorative elements, including slates with Disney characters in various holiday scenes.

Already, the Little Mermaid-inspired carousel is back at Beach Club, and next up is the gingerbread house at Grand Floridian. This is typically the preeminent resort offering during the Christmas season, and for good reason–it’s truly awesome. We believe you can have an incredible time at the resorts without ever setting foot in a theme park. We live near the parks and visit weekly and would love for you to follow along.

This last Sunday afternoon, I visited Disney’s Grand Floridian, hoping that the gingerbread display was finished. Unfortunately, while the structure was completed, the landscaping had yet to be added. In this article, we visit Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort to preview the 2022 gingerbread house.

Since Christmas is, at its core, a holiday about caging birds, there are thankfully still a few of those in the tree. The Grand Gift Box will include many holiday favorite treats in one beautifully decorated box. The Disney Pastry Chefs version is a red velvet cake covered in dark chocolate buttercream. Red poinsettia flowers and a “Happy Holidays” placard decorate the top. Speaking of having a cup of hot chocolate – make it easy and delicious with this set of four hot chocolate bombs. Put one of these in a mug and pour over hot milk or if you really want a decadent cup of hot chocolate — light cream — and wait for the magic to happen.

Cast members will take shifts inside the house, selling holiday treats between now and January 1, 2024. Check out the full lineup of gingerbread displays at Walt Disney World Resort, which will each open in the next few weeks. With just a couple of days to go until its official opening, this year’s gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa appears to be complete. Of all the things to make out of gingerbread, a bar probably isn’t the first to come to mind. Adults enjoyed Santa’s Tavern, the life-size bar made from 1400 pounds of cookie dough, which served seasonal cocktails including a classic mule spiced up with gingerbread liqueur.

If you want photos like mine in this post, going late at night is a must. This traditional German Christmas bread is typically a fruit bread of nuts, spices, and dried or candied fruit, coated with powdered sugar or icing sugar and often containing marzipan. During the Christmas season, the cake-like loaves are called Weihnachtsstollen or Christstollen. After all, it’s the reason for the house in the first place — a gingerbread shingle.

The ship, manned by 10 nautical characters created with color fondant, paid tribute to the legends and lore of historic Amelia Island. When it comes to creating massive, one-of-a-kind houses (and more!) for the holidays, pastry chefs, and even architects pull out all the stops at these U.S. hotels pull out all the stops. Joining this impressive lineup this year is the Lighthouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. This brand-new creation was created by Pastry Chef de Cuisine Michael Craig who used the actual blueprints from the real lighthouse located outside the resort along Crescent Lake. This sweet version is not to be missed on your gingerbread festivities this year.

While the Gingerbread Ornament is a great option, it’s meant for decor and not a snack. It took 500 hours to bake the gingerbread, 480 hours of decorating, and over three days to construct it. And if you look closely, you’ll find lots of hidden gems, nods to classic Disney, and even hidden Santas. If you want a special treat to take home, the signature gingerbread house is $85.00.

It’s impossible not to when you are within 10 feet or so of this giant life-sized chocolate Santa display at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel. The display has been happening since 2010 and includes a 7-foot tall, 400-pound nutcracker. As we keep going around Crescent Lake, we get to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn where their display is shore to impress from Nov. 17 through Dec. 27.

Per Walt Disney World, the rationale was that all holiday offerings that “draw big crowds will be on hiatus” due to physical distancing. If you’re visiting Walt Disney World during the holiday season, a visit to the Grand Floridian is something we consider a requirement. This year, the Grand Floridian’s gingerbread house returned to its original style with red accents. For the last two years, the gingerbread house was accented with decor representing Disney’s 50th anniversary. In 2017, a 46-inch-wide gingerbread display mirrored the resort itself—complete with a pool and a teepee. After viewing the resort-within-the-resort, guests could treat themselves to seasonal spa treatments, including the Arctic Berry Peel and Sugar Plum Restorative Oxygen Ritual.

What We Wish We’d Known Before Going to Disney World During the Holidays

A visit to the Grand Floridian is a quintessential holiday-time experience, and it’s one of a few must-do stops on our Free Self-Guided Walt Disney World Yuletide Resort Tour. That’s what we recommend doing in the morning before attending Disney Very Merriest After Hours (if you opt to do that upcharge) or perhaps just on your non-parks day. It’s one of our favorite things to do at Walt Disney World, and we make a point of doing it annually–along with separate visits to many of the hotels. Anyway, on the backside of the gingerbread display, we see the menu for the 2022 gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian.

Four Seasons Rancho Encantado

Every year, the gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort resembles a Victorian-style house and is located in the main lobby of the resort. Guests will be able to purchase gingerbread treats and other sweets from the gingerbread house when it opens in November. Each year, Disney’s Boardwalk Resort creates a breathtaking life-sized gingerbread display that rivals the Grand Floridian gingerbread house in scale and detail. This carousel actually turns, and each year the horses have a new theme that follows a set of Disney characters and films.

Additional cut-outs in the shape of hearts reveal hidden ornaments. We also love exploring the little scenes and characters set up throughout the display, like this doorway with a snowman and toy soldier greeter. There are so many holiday traditions that we all love and cherish, and Disney has a unique way of putting its own special twist on those traditions. A display is set up on the first and second floors, offering a preview of the treats.

The structure required a whopping 624 pounds of flour, 200 pounds of sugar, 144 pounds of brown sugar, and 144 pounds of molasses—enough to make any dentist’s day. This property’s 2017 display was an impressive 17-foot pirate ship, The S.S. Ginger Amelia. The vessel took a crew of eight pastry chefs more than 350 man-hours (and 600 individual pieces of gingerbread) to create.

There are many other windows, so make the time to stop and take in all of the details and spot all of the characters!! While you’re checking out the window, take a look at this detailed ornament hung in the gables of the house. We can smell that delicious cozy scent all through Disney’s Grand Floridian because the beautiful, iconic gingerbread house is officially complete and open! As we make our way down to the lower level, some of the more intimate details of the gingerbread house come into view. Below, we’ll preview photos and a video of the 2023 Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian.

The gingerbread house display will officially open on November 8, 2023, and will remain open through January 1, 2024. For holiday lovers, stopping by the Grand Floridian during the holiday season is truly a must-do. Guests can also view the unique gingerbread display inside Haunted Mansion Holiday. Haunted Mansion Holiday will be available through January 7, 2024. The TV mounted on the side of the gingerbread house usually plays video about its construction. There are tiny trees staged on tables next to the gingerbread house.

Built from scratch, Disney chefs and a construction team assemble the house piece by piece as resort guests diligently check on the progress. This display case shows off some of the items available for purchase from the gingerbread house shop, including a more traditionally-sized gingerbread house. You can check out the full lineup of gingerbread displays at Walt Disney World Resort for 2023 here. In our last update, the gingerbread house just had its siding and shingles installed, but was missing its powdered sugar dusting of “snow” and other various décor. Are you excited to see the gingerbread house return to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa?

The 2023 gingerbread display at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is now officially open. The Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort lobby will be remodeled next year. The project was delayed and then officially pushed to 2024 so as not to interfere with the gingerbread house display. But you'd need a truckload of candy to deck these adorable abodes, for several of LA's gingerbread houses stand at two stories or more. A lift vehicle nearby was likely used to add shingles to the very top of the gingerbread house. Most, if not all, of the house’s gingerbread shingles and siding pieces have been installed.

Here Mickey, Minnie, and Donald are enjoying a day out in the snow. Gingerbread is one of those iconic holiday treats, and Disney World’s popular life-size Gingerbread House is one of those iconic spots during the holidays. We love watching its construction, breathing in the gingerbread-scented air, and of course, buying gingerbread treats from its little store window. Those with a sweet tooth will find plenty of options for treats at this year’s gingerbread display.

Find out more about this special holiday trail now, then stock your car with actual gingerbread goodies to snack upon as you go in search of these ultra-darling dwellings. It may be just a few days into November, but the most magical place on Earth is already preparing for Santa with lots of treats and good cheer. If you’re traveling by bus, monorail, boat, etc., you’re perfectly fine. Again, we’d strongly recommend taking the walking path from Magic Kingdom to Grand Floridian that opened around this time last year.

Chocolate Santas, snowmen, and nutcrackers are alongside miniature snow covered trees. The Victorian-style house has gabled roofs, dentils, decorative scrollwork, shutters, and more. Many of the decorations have EARidescent shades of blue and gold. Even the gold ribbon wraps found on the turrets of Cinderella Castle are on the home’s chimney stack. You'll want to read about the park that gets the most Magical decorations in our post on Christmas at Magic Kingdom. It’s not as straightforward as the traditional home-buying process, but if you don’t mind a project, it’s an alternative entry into a market that can be brutally expensive. Realtor.com’s system seems a bit more equitable, and a simple ZIP Code search will show how many homes an agent has listed and how many that person has sold. You can also search by credentials; for example, you can see only agents who’ve received certifications such as “Real Estate Negotiation Expert” or “At Home With Diversity,” two of many distinctions awarded by the National Assn. of Realtors. For the casual shopper, these sites are a fun jaunt into the market, a voyeuristic way to spend an afternoon. But to the grizzled veteran who loved and lost, the one who has been outbid countless times, scrolling through listings becomes work. At this point, you’ll want to find the fastest, most efficient way to narrow your search.

Munsters House Floor Plans with Real Examples

From the main hall, you can enter the dining room or parlor, showing how much this floor of the home was intended for entertaining. First announced in the summer of 2004 , the project was tinkered with for years, though Shawn Wayans offered a major update on he project in November 2008. In addition to announcing that this new "Munsters" movie was preparing to finally begin filming, he also noted that he and Marlon Wayans would not appear in the films.

The Munsters Home Without ‘All That Spooky Stuff’

(The episode is available on the first season of The Munsters DVDs.) It never aired, but the script was reused as the basis for Episode 2, "My Fair Munster". The cast in the title sequence included Joan Marshall as Phoebe (instead of Lily), Beverley Owen as Marilyn, Nate "Happy" Derman as Eddie, Al Lewis as Grandpa and Fred Gwynne as Herman. Although the same house exterior was used, it was later changed to appear spookier for the series.

Key Characteristics of Victorian Gothic Houses

Among many similarities between the two properties, "The Munsters" and "The Addams Family" have their roots in pop culture dating back years earlier. "The Munsters" was inspired by classic Universal monsters of the 1930s and 1940s, while "The Addams Family" was originally a series of New Yorker cartoons from Charles Addams. However, the most famous iterations of both properties were 1960s prime time TV shows that went head-to-head, giving birth to a "rivalry" between the two "spooky family" programs. The pilot title sequence had light, happy music borrowed from the Doris Day movie The Thrill of It All[21] instead of the instrumental rock theme. It was also decided that Marshall too closely resembled Morticia Addams[21] and that Derman was too nasty as Eddie, so both were replaced.[21] On the basis of the first presentation, the new series, still not completely cast, was announced by CBS on February 18, 1964.

You need to make something as distinct and unique in the modern pop culture landscape as the original "Munsters" was when it first took to the airwaves. In prepping his reboot of the "Munsters," titled "Mockingbird Lane," Bryan Fuller, the man behind TV shows like "Pushing Daisies" and "Hannibal," was well aware of this fact and carried several specific ideas on how to revamp "The Munsters" for 21st century viewers. One can’t speak about The Munsters without mentioning the iconic Munster mansion. The house, located at 1313 Mockingbird Lane, was as much a character in the show as the Munsters themselves.

There are only 70 episodes of The Munsters, which originally aired from 1964 to 1966. Reruns began in the 1990s, and now the show has a large YouTube presence. The McKees lived full time in the Munster home until six years ago, when they moved next door to a brighter house with no cobwebs. While they lived in the mansion, they opened their doors for charity events but the rest of the year they slept, ate, and entertained family in the house; they hosted Thanksgiving dinners and had sleepovers with their grandchildren. The little ones were scared, so everyone slept in Lily and Herman’s room.

The Spooky Yet Cozy Munster Mansion

Smart home abilities, modern appliances, and more find their way into many Victorian renovations. However, you don’t want to lose those unique touches that make the home so spectacular. The third floor also features a half bath in addition to spare rooms and storage space.

year-old dead, parents injured in Munster house fire, officials say

Witnesses said the toddler’s father re-entered the home and attempted to rescue his son, who ultimately did not survive, WLS-TV and NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV reported. The identity of the child has not yet been released, and an investigation remains underway. Another neighbor, Kim Mullens, said that the young boy, whom some called "Mackie," was a ray of sunshine in their lives. According to authorities, a three-year-old boy died in the blaze, and both his parents were hospitalized with smoke inhalation.

"My next film project will be the one I've been chasing for 20 years! THE MUNSTERS!" The mention of him harboring a love for "The Munsters" was no PR hyperbole. "We just decided that it didn't hold together well enough to yield a series," former NBC head Bob Greenblatt told Deadline. If you're going to do a new take on "The Munsters," you can't just do a rehash of the old TV show.

How much thought have you given to the homes of some of your favorite sitcom families? Whatever the answer, it probably can’t compare to Marina Coates, the creative mind behind Mockingbird Lane Design, who has painstakingly recreated, via computer, the interior of many of these houses. Maybe you want to take a trip to 1164 Morning Glory Circle (home base for Bewitched), 148 Bonnie Meadow Road (The Dick Van Dyke Show), 623 East 68th Street (I Love Lucy) or, our personal recommendation, 1313 Mockingbird Lane (The Munsters). McKee said she believes its popularity lies with the show portraying a real family, and she watches the show with her grandchildren.

So they moved next door, to the garage, which has been converted into a small house on the 2.5-acre property. Currently, the house is only available for touring during October and its annual Halloween charity fundraising event, but costs nothing to see. There are plans to open the house up for more frequent tours in the future. Cast members of the original show often attend the fundraisers; Al Lewis (Grandpa), Butch Patrick (Eddie), and Pat Priest (Marilyn) have all been guests of 1313 Mockingbird Lane. In the mid-2000s, for the second season of Desperate Housewives, the second floor was demolished and all of the remaining architectural details on the first floor were removed. A new second floor was constructed with a somewhat similar design, changing the original mansard gable into a gambrel gable, reflecting a more Dutch Colonial Revival architectural style.

Barris also built the DRAG-U-LA, a dragster built from a coffin (according to Barris, a real coffin was purchased for the car), which Grandpa used to win back the Munster Koach after Herman lost it in a race. The interiors of the Munsters' mansion were filmed on Stages 30 and 32 at Universal Studios. (When Lily "dusted" the house, her Electrolux emitted clouds of dust, which she applied to surfaces that would normally be cleaned). As a running gag, parts of the house would often be damaged, mostly by Herman's tantrums or clumsiness, but the damage would not last.

In October 2011, the series was picked up by Cartoon Network's sister channel Boomerang and ran through the entire month of October that year for Halloween along with The Addams Family. It costs $110 per guest and includes a mansion tour, drinks, and murder mystery entertainment. But most of all, there was a theme of love and acceptance that rang throughout the episodes. They were beloved sitcom characters on the TV show “The Munsters” from 1964 to 1966. After 11 years, they decided that living in a re-created TV set wasn’t all that comfortable. Sandra cooked every meal in the laundry room, since a new-age stove didn’t belong in her Munsters kitchen.

So to recreate a place that didn’t exist, Sandra and Chuck McKee had to create their own blueprints. Since then, the McKees have opened their private home to the public for two nights each year on the weekend of Halloween. Since the death of Lewis, Pat Priest has returned to appear multiple times. The Munster Mansion Halloween Bash each year selects a local charity and donates all proceeds from the event.

Witnesses reported the child’s father was injured while trying to save his son. Neighbor Robert Wojtowich recalled seeing the boy’s mother screaming “my baby's gone” in the driveway of their home. He said the child’s father ran back inside after realizing his son had not escaped. Mullens' townhome was connected to that of the victims in the fire, and she too witnessed the boy's father trying to save his son. The child's parents were taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation with minor to moderate burns, officials said. Speculation around the beloved Victorian house has been circulating the internet but it is refreshing to see that Zombie is dedicated to the sitcom's original design.

Appearances In Film And TV

But though "The Munsters" continues to be beloved by the general public, there remains an untold truth of this franchise, which includes everything from behind-the-scenes facts about the original series to various abandoned attempts to revive the property for the 21st century. Even if you feel like you know "The Munsters" well enough that Eddie Munster feels like your own sibling, the untold truth of "The Munsters" will still provide you with plenty of unexpected delights. Gold Key Comics produced a Munsters comic book that ran for 16 issues from 1965 to 1968 and featured photo covers from the TV series.

The home is so recognizable that many die-hard fans even strive to recreate the look with their own homes. But, you can leave out the overgrown trees and fear factor and instead achieve a beautiful home ala the Munsters’ style. Deadline reported in 2017 that Meyers was teaming up with Jill Kargman to spearhead this half-hour comedy project, which would reimagine the titular family as denizens of hipster Brooklyn. This attempt at reviving "The Munsters" didn't just disappoint fans of the franchise, it also provided the rare instance of a Seth Meyers production going nowhere in his longstanding creative relationship with NBC/Universal.

However, the outlet observed that it was on syndication where "The Munsters" gained a second wind that ensured it would stick around in the pop culture consciousness. Reruns of old episodes proved so popular that they inspired a series of TV specials, a revival of "The Munsters" in the 1980s, and several attempts at translating "The Munsters" into a theatrical movie. All these developments serve as evidence of the power syndication used to have over determining a TV show's long-term fate with viewers. Such a universal truism helps explain why the central concept of "The Munsters," a 1960s TV program chronicling the exploits of a family whose individual members largely looked like movie monsters, resonated so deeply with general audiences.

The Upstart JSX Versus the Airline Bullies

The iconic home of "The Munsters" at 1313 Mockingbird Lane was not just filmed anywhere. Keeping with the Universal Monsters theme, exterior shots were filmed on Stage 12 of the Universal Hollywood backlot, while Stages 30 and 32 were used for interior shots. Before the McKees built their own Munster Mansion, they had no idea how popular the show still was—with people of all ages.

However, a decision was made between the filming of the pilot and the eventual premiere of the series that resulted in the rest of "The Munsters" being filmed in a monochromatic hue. This turned into a memorable visual facet of the show, but it's still one wrapped in mystery. A television film titled Here Come the Munsters aired in 1995, and The Munsters' Scary Little Christmas was released in 1996. The house then fell into a state of severe disrepair and by 1987 was unable to be used for the original TV pilot of The Munsters Today.

Year-Old Boy Died in House Fire After Dad Ran Back in to Try and Save Him: 'He Was Covered in Ash'

Officials say the boy's siblings were at school at the time of the fire. "Any loss of life is terrible for us, but when you talk about a child, it's really hard. That's the hardest thing there is," Munster Fire Chief Mark Hajduk said. He saw the boy's mother screaming in the driveway that her son was still inside. The actual structure stands on Colonial Street in Universal Studios Hollywood, the scene of many other TV shows. But, if you want to see a home that still looks like the Munster family mansion, then you can head to Waxahachie, TX.

In Phoenix, Arizona, you can find a fine example of the Queen Anne Victorian style. The Rosson House, built in 1895, is a museum showcasing the architecture and features of historic homes from this era. This is where Sandra and Charles McKee have recreated a complete replica of the famous mansion. The couple designed the home by watching the television show and paying attention to every detail. You can arrange tours of the house and also attend special murder mystery events. The actual home used in the Munsters TV show still stands today, but it looks a lot different.

Appearing almost exactly as the set house did on television, the only difference is that this Texan version appears newer. The ultimate goal of the McKees, however, is for the house to look just as it did in the show. The exterior is to be painted darker, aged, and distressed in order to achieve the decayed look of the original Munster Mansion. With a little more age and dust, the two homes will be nearly indistinguishable.

McKee owns one from the movie Munster Go Home, but says she’d “sell nearly everything” she owns to have just one from the series. Constructed in a Gothic Victorian style, the house stands on a property enclosed by a stone wall and the yard is full of weeds and dead trees. It's a nine-room mansion with one bathroom, secret passages and doorways. Adjacent by a trap door in the parlor, the unusually deeper cellar has been converted into a Laboratory. The structure seems to have been built on a Spanish prison that once held Morgan the Pirate, whose treasure was found in the backyard.

After production of The Munsters in 1966 and the film Munster, Go Home, the house was stripped of its trees, gates and other landscape dressing. After production of So Goes My Love ended, both house sets were put into storage. In the early 1950s Universal decided to build a new exterior residential street on its front lot, and these sets were then taken out of storage and reassembled where they became a part of "River Road;" one of a number of residential streets constructed in the area. The house was then seen in a number of Universal productions through the 1950s (see List of appearances in film and television, below). I hope that Zombie decides to change up the interior of the house, though.

This included adding the tower deck and Marilyn's deck, a new coat of paint and enlarging the living room. Although Grandpa had the same dungeon, Gwynne did not wear padding in the pitch episode, had a more protruding forehead, and was broad but thin. The most noticeable difference was his somber expression rather than his comic silliness during the series.[19] Except for Marilyn, the family had a blue-green tint to their skin. The biggest character difference was that Eddie was portrayed by Derman as a nasty brat.[20] Eddie, as played by Patrick, was mostly respectful. Deadline recently noted that "The Munsters" was not a monster smash in the ratings when it first aired on television.

A family is grieving after a toddler died and his parents were injured following a house fire Monday in Northwest Indiana. The couple’s three other children were at school at the time of the fire. According to a GoFundMe set up for the family, both Lee and Slawinski were injured trying to rescue Mack. MUNSTER, Ind. (CBS) -- A child died in a house fire in Munster, Indiana, on Monday. “They went running into the house and grabbed the husband and pulled him out,” Bo Wojtowich said.

Another cool fact about the house is that once The Munsters wrapped, the house was dressed and remodeled to be featured in Desperate Housewives as well as Coach. The Munsters’ family home is a Victorian-style home, specifically Gothic Revival or Victorian Gothic, noted for ornate and extravagant detail. The Gothic style first appeared in the mid-1700s, gaining a lot of demand with Gothic Revival in the 19th-century. With the popularity of the 1960’s TV show, many people call homes in this style a Munster or Munster-style house.
